The Selective Auto and Fire Insurance Company (Safeco) is an insurance company that was founded in 1923 by Hawthorne K. Dent. The company provides a mix of personalized home and auto protection services for individuals and families. With time, the company grew rapidly across the West Coast because it offered competitive insurance rates and excellent service. Towards the ends of the 60s the company started offering commercial lines of credit and mutual funds.
Safeco experienced tremendous growth and in 1997, it acquired American States Financial Corporation. The acquisition doubled its agents and increased its presence making it a leading writer of SME insurance. 2002 proved to be a difficult year for the company financially, but it went back to its roots and begun offering competitive rates and disciplined underwriting. In 2008, Safeco joined the Liberty Insurance Company and now focuses on persona insurance.

Safeco Bill Payment
Safeco offers simple and convenient ways to manage and pay bills. Let’s look briefly at the payment options you have as a customer.
Pay via bank account
You can pay your Safeco bill via a checking account (EFT) only. Currently, Safeco doesn’t accept payments from savings account. Safeco accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express.
Pay Safeco.com bill online
As a customer, you can conveniently manage and pay your insurance bills online. If you want to make one-time payment, simply go to www.safeco.com and log into your account.
Select the policy that’s due and then hover to the payment link to complete the payment. Funds will be deducted and your payment will reflect in your bank statement after 3-7 business days. You cannot schedule a future transaction until your payment has been processed and posted into your card or bank statement.
Pay by phone
You can also make phone payments to Safeco anytime you want. Simply dial 800-332-3226 and then press 1-2-(enter policy number)-2. Payment will be deducted directly from your account and appear in your bill after 3-7 days. If you make a payment past 5.pm PT, posting will be made the following day. During this time, you won’t be able to schedule a future payment.

Safeco allows customers to setup automatic payments. If you want to change or setup recurring payments, simply login to you www.safeco.com account and then click on Options and then view billing information. Select recurring credit card or automatic deductions under Payment Options. Set the date and enter your account details as required. You can use a checking account or your credit card for automatic payments. If you don’t have an account, go to the home page and register as follows:
