Des Moines Water Works Bill Pay Options
Des Moines Water Works provides its customers with a number of ways to make their monthly payments. You can select a payment option which suits you the best. There are six different payment options. Given below is a brief description of each of them.
Customers of Des Moines Water Works are able to set up an online account where they have several options available to them for management of their account. When customers sign up for an online account they are able to pay using an electronic check, credit card, reoccurring payments, or even set up direct pay.
When using credit card, you need to remember that a $2.00 fee will be charged. There are no fees associated with any of the other options. When customers sign up for online access at www.dmww.com they will need to have their account number ready. You will also need to provide a valid email address with registration. Once customers have an online account set up with Des Moines Water Works they will also be able to set up their account for Direct Pay.
This is the most convenient and hassle free mode of payment for your monthly bills. Through this mode of payment, you allow Des Moines Water Works to deduct your bill from your banking account automatically after 10 days of your billing date. However, you will still regularly receive your statement so that you know the amount of payment. To enroll in Direct Pay customers need to fill out the sign up form and return it or fill out the form online at www.dmww.com by logging into their accounts. To fill out the form and send it back in customers will need to enclose a voided check or deposit slip. Direct pay can be set up using a checking or savings account. The payment will be automatically deducted from your account about ten days after the billing date. Be sure to continue to pay your bill as normal until you have been notified that your direct pay has taken effect, to avoid any service interruptions.
Pay by phone
You can call a customer service representative on 515.283.8700 Monday through Friday between the hours of 7:30 am and 5:30 pm if you need assistance with processing a payment. There will be a $2.00 if a credit card payment is made over the phone.
Taking your bill to a local Hyvee and Dahls store you are able to make payments as well. Using this pay stations may impose a service fee. Please note that these fees are not collected by Des Moines Water Works. When choosing to pay at one of the pay stations be sure to present your bill. Since the pay stations are not directly linked to the utility office please allow up to ten days for your payment to be posted to your account. If your account is in disconnection status it is not recommended that customers use the pay stations. Accounts that are in the disconnection status must be paid in person at the utility office at 2201 George Flagg Parkway. Payments are not considered made until they are fully received by the water works department.

Customers are always welcome to make their payment by walking in to the Des Moines office between the hours of seven thirty and five thirty, Monday through Friday.
