California American Water Bill Pay options
To make it easier for their customers to pay the way they want to, CAW offer a range of payment options. As a customer of CAW you can pay online, automatic bank transfer, phone, mail and in person.
You can pay your CAW bill online on their website at www.amwater.com. You will have to register first so that your online account can be created.
Your details will be stored safely so that logging in at a later date will be as easy as typing in your username and chosen password.
Pay by automatic bank transfer
If you have a regular income the best way to pay your bill is to set up automatic payments. This means that the money will be taken from your account each month on the date you set so that you don’t need to worry again about remembering your payments or receiving a late payment fee as a result of late payment. New customers can also register to get the service from the online portal as shown below.
Pay by Phone
You can pay your bill over the phone as long as you have a valid credit or debit card at www.amwater.com. Make sure you have your account number and payment method to hand to make the transaction faster. To pay over the phone you will need to call 1.866.271.5522.
Post your payment
When you receive your bill you will find that there is a bill stub attached to the bottom, you should separate this from the rest of the letter. The bill stub needs to be added to the envelope that is provided as well as your payment method. You should not send cash through the post though. If you do not include the bill stub CAW will not know which account to add the payment to. Remember to take into consideration the amount of time it will take for your payment to be received by CAW and processed. If you are running very close to your bill payment date you should use one of the other methods that mean your account will be credited sooner.
Pay your bill in person
If you prefer to pay your bill in person you can use one of the many payment locations dotted around the country. If you do not know where your nearest one is you can use the online payment location locator. You can pay by card or cash at the locations but you will need to visit them in person as they will not accept posted payments. You can get a receipt for your payment at the same time, but do bear in mind that it will take a few days for the payment to be received so you will need to ensure you get your payment in a little early to avoid a late payment fee.
